COLLEGE TALENT ATHLETIC EVALUATION PROGRAM
FOR SOPHMORE THRU SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES

To: All High School Sophomore, Junior and Senior Men and Women, Junior Varsity or Varsity Golf Team members.

From: Bill Skolaut, PGA Director of Instruction, Cardinal Hill Golf Club, Liberty, Missouri. PGA Director of Instruction Paradise Pointe Golf Complex, Smithville, Missouri. Men and Women's Golf Coach, William Jewell College, Liberty, Missouri.

Subject: Evaluating player talent and setting realistic goals for college bound students wishing to participate in varsity golf programs at various competitive levels.

Dear Student,
As a former High School and College athlete, I know very well of the rewards and disappointments that student athletes go through! As the head golf coach for the William Jewell Cardinals for the past 16 years, I have also seen and talked to many players about their desire to be part of a competitive program that will enhance their playing skills to a level they can be proud of.

It has always been of the utmost importance to me from the stand point of recruiting that each player is looking at my golf program from a realistic point of view! Many questions are never asked by students of thought out thoroughly during interviews with schools or coaches. Believe it or not, a big scholarship is the least important item one should consider. Yet it is the number one thing on the players and most importantly their parent’s minds! How about this one, do you even like the school and or campus you’re considering attending?

I am available by appointment Tuesday thru Sunday each week for talent evaluations for college bound students wishing to compete in a varsity golf program. IT IS FREE! All I ask is that the player understands their abilities and sets realistic goals. Not everyone can compete at a division I school. There are however, a whole lot of other high quality golf programs at smaller university’s that offer the student athlete incredible opportunities. Following is a small portion of questions a player should consider asking and be prepared to answer. If I can be of help please feel free to call me and set up an appointment. Your parents are encouraged to come with you, if you or they wish!

Stay out of the rough,

Bill Skolaut,
